Many investigations hinge on establishing where an individual actually lives. In the modern world, it is easy to maintain a mailing address. There are businesses dedicated to providing private mailboxes for just that purpose. But linking that information to an address where the subject individual actually lives requires more steps.

One way to tie an individual to a residential address is through a utility search. A subject’s utility accounts, representing services that support human existence, can lead straight to a confirmed address. Why? Because people actually need cellular telephone service, water service, garbage, heating, electric power and cable to live.

In our experience, the best way to find where a person actually lives is to review where their utility billings are sent. A cellular telephone bill, a gas/electric bill, even a cable television bill—can lead right to an individual’s actual residence.

Our searches start with confidential databases accessible to private investigators. We find an account, and then we attempt to confirm it. Some utilities will telephone-confirm.
